How to start an instant meeting

Who can use thisSuper Admins, and any role given this permission

Permissions you need

View and join meetingsSchedule and start meetings

Set by your workspace admin. If you cannot do this, ask them for access.

An instant meeting starts right now. There is nothing to schedule.

Before you start: you need the Create permission for Meetings. Admins and Super Admins have it by default.

On Meetings, tap Instant.

On this screen
- Meeting Name – starts as your name's Meeting.
- No. of Seats – the default is 100.
- Duration – 30 minutes by default.
- Advanced Options – the same switches as when scheduling.
- Cancel and Start Meeting – along the bottom.
Tap Start Meeting. The button says Starting meeting… and a Connecting to your meeting… screen follows.
Ready to Join?
On this screen
- Camera preview – shows how you look before you go in.
- Mic, camera, blur and crop buttons – under the preview.
- Microphone, Speaker and Camera – pick the devices.
- Your name – shown above the button.
- End-to-end encrypted connection – a note under your name.
- Join Meeting – goes into the meeting. Go Back leaves.

The meeting can take several seconds to load, and the screen may be blank for a moment. Wait for Ready to Join? to appear.
