How to create a poll

Permission you need

Create posts

Set by your workspace admin. If you cannot do this, ask them for access.

A poll asks your workspace a question and shows the results as people vote. A poll has a question, two to four options, and runs for one, three or seven days.

In the Create Post window, tap Poll. The Create Poll form opens.

- Question – up to 140 characters (0/140).
- Options – start with two, Option 1 and Option 2, each up to 30 characters. The counter at the right of the heading (2/4) shows how many you have out of the four allowed.
- Add option – adds another row, up to four.
- Poll Duration – 1 day, 3 days or 7 days. 1 day is chosen to begin with.
- Done – stays grey until the question and at least two options are filled in.
Type your question and fill in the options. Tap Add option for a third or fourth one.

- Question – Which day works best for our monthly town hall? with its counter (47/140).
- Options – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, each with a counter (for example 7/30). The heading shows 3/4.
- Red × beside an option – removes it. It appears once you have more than two.
- Poll Duration – 7 days is chosen here.
- Done – blue now that the poll is complete.
Tap Done. The poll is attached to your post. Add a line of text above it if you like.

- Text – Help us plan the next town hall, above the poll.
- Poll tile – at the bottom of the window, with a pencil to change the poll and a red × to remove it.
- Posting as – this example posts as the workspace.
Tap Post. The poll appears in the feed.

- Question and options – each option has a circle to tap.
- Votes and time left – the grey bar at the bottom shows 0 votes and Ends in 7d.
- Action bar – Like, Comment, Share, Repost and Save work on a poll like any other post.

Voting

Tap an option to vote. You vote once.

Results stay hidden until you have voted. A poll closes when its time runs out.
