How to write a text post

Who can use thisMembers and Super Admins

Permission you need

Create posts

Set by your workspace admin. If you cannot do this, ask them for access.

Every post starts in the same composer. This article covers a plain text post; the other types add something to it.

Before you start: you need the Create posts permission. If the share box is missing, ask your workspace admin.

On the News feed, tap the share box at the top (Hey , share what's inspiring you today). The Create Post window opens.

- Posting as – who the post comes from. It starts as you; see Choose who posts and who can see it.
- Visibility – the Public button at the top right.
- Formatting bar – B bold, I italic, U underline, strike-through, a numbered list and a bullet list.
- Writing area – What's on your mind?, with a counter (0 / 3000) at the bottom right. A post can be up to 3,000 characters.
- Add-ons along the bottom – Media, Poll, Event, YouTube, Link and Emoji.
- Close, drafts, Save Draft and Post – along the top. Post stays grey until there is something to post.
Type your message. Use the formatting bar if you like.

- Your text – the lines you typed, with the counter updated (120 / 3000).
- Post – the blue button now at the top right, because the post is ready.
- Save Draft – keeps the post for later instead of publishing it. See Save a draft.
- Posting as – this example is set to post as the workspace Acme Crop.
Tap Post. The post appears at the top of the feed straight away.

- New post at the top – newest first, marked now.
- Author – the workspace or you, depending on Posting as.
- Same action bar as every other post.

Good to know

The Emoji button opens an emoji picker for your text.
While a photo or video is attached, Poll, Event, YouTube and Link are greyed out: a post carries one kind of content at a time.
