How to filter, sort and change the view

Permission you need

View files and folders

Set by your workspace admin. If you cannot do this, ask them for access.

Three tools at the top right of My Drive help you find things in a long list: Filter, Sort and the grid/list switch. Next to them is Search; see How to search.

Filter

Tap the filter (funnel) icon. A panel opens under it.

- Date of upload – choose one: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Custom date range.
- Document type – tap one or more chips: Folders, Images, Videos, Audio, Documents.
- Clear – resets both groups.
- Apply – the blue button that filters the list. The panel closes and only matching items stay in view.
- × at the top right closes the panel without changing anything.

Sort

Tap the sort (up/down arrows) icon.

- Sort by – the menu title, with the current direction (Desc here) at the right.
- Name, Modified date, Created date, Size and Type – the five ways to order the list.
- Current choice – shown in blue with an arrow (here Created date). Tap the same option again to flip between ascending and descending.

Grid and list view

Tap the grid/list icon (the last of the four tools) to switch between large cards and a table.
List view

- Columns – Name, Type, Uploaded On, Created By, Size and Actions.
- Rows – one per file or folder, with a small type icon next to the name.
- ⋮ in the Actions column – the same item menu as on a card.
- Switch icon – at the top right it now shows the grid symbol; tap it to go back to cards.
