Supported file types and how they open

Permission you need

View files and folders

Set by your workspace admin. If you cannot do this, ask them for access.

You can upload any type of file. inLynk Business Network does not block file types. What differs is how a file is previewed once it is in Drive. If a file cannot be previewed, you can still Share and Download it.

See how different types open

Tap an image. It opens full size in the image viewer.
Image preview
On this screen
- Path bar – My Files › Team_Offsite_Photo.jpg shows where the file is. Tap My Files to go back.
- Three icons, top right – i (details), share and ×(close).
- The picture fills the page.
- Counter – 1 / 3 at the bottom: you can swipe to the next image in the same folder.
Tap a video. It opens in the player.
Video preview
On this screen
- Play button in the middle of the video; tap it to start.
- Timeline along the bottom with the current time and the total length (00:00:00 / 00:00:04 here).
- The same path bar and icons (details, share, close) are at the top.
Tap a code or data file such as JSON. It opens as readable text.
Code file shown as text
On this screen
- Monospace text – the file's contents shown exactly as written, with line breaks and indentation kept.
- Nothing runs or is edited here; it is a viewer only.
Tap an SVG file. It is drawn as a picture, like any other image.

- The artwork is rendered at full size on the page.
- Path bar and icons work the same as for other previews.
Tap a PowerPoint file. There is no preview, so a File Details dialog opens instead.

- Title, Size and Format – for example Quarterly_Review.pptx, 28.4 KB, PPTX.
- Status – Preview not available explains why nothing is shown.
- Uploaded and By – when it was uploaded and who by.
- Share and Download – the two buttons at the bottom. Use Download to open the file in another app.
Tap a ZIP or other archive. You get the same dialog.

- The dialog has the same fields as for PowerPoint: Title, Size, Format (ZIP), Status (Preview not available), Uploaded and By.
- Use Share or Download to work with the file.

Size and names

There is no fixed size limit per file. What limits you is your storage quota. See File size and storage limits.
A name can be up to 255 characters and must be unique in its folder. See Naming rules.
